Description
The Wellington was the dominant British bomber in the first two years of World War II, although by the end of the war it had been replaced in Europe by the Lancaster. But in other theatres, especially in North Africa, the Willington could fly faster and carry more bombs than most Italian fighters. A total of 11,461 were produced. The Wellington Mk.IC consisted of a crew of six: pilot, radio operator, pilot/bomber, front gunner, rear gunner, and center gunner. Two 1,050 HP Bristol Pegasus XVIII engines gave it a speed of 380 km. It can fly to an altitude of 5,490 meters and has a range of 4,105 kilometers.
