The T-28 medium tank was one of the earliest medium tanks in service in the former Soviet Union. It was officially equipped with the Soviet Red Army from 1933 and served until 1941. In 1932, the Ptilov Arsenal produced a prototype of a medium tank. This prototype is similar to the British "Vickers" MKIIIA6E1 medium tank. It is said that the former Soviet Union did not buy this British tank at that time, but obtained the design information of this tank through spies. The total combat weight of the prototype is 17.3t, with a crew of 6, and other indicators are the same as the design requirements. After the test, the military requested to increase its armor thickness and increase the gun caliber to 76.2mm. After the prototype was improved, the military agreed to mass-produce it and called it the T-28 medium tank.
