Description
Border Model announcement…again. But this time it is about an IDF subject. Border just announced their latest – 1/35 IDF Merkava Mk.2D. One of the most attractive versions of the Israeli Main Battle Tank. Shape-wise, many consider this to be the finest Merkava, combining the roughness with the upgrades /of the original/ and the looks of a raw, unrefined tool of war. We sincerely share that opinion. Alongside with Merkava 3D, those two bear the aesthetics of an era already past, even though many say that those Chariots of God /Merkava translated from Hebrew/ are still in use. Both tanks are far from the flying saucer looks of the 4th generation of the Merkava, and are somewhat nostalgically looking. All in all, we think they are beautiful.
We trust that Border took the matter very seriously, which can be seen in the pictures. There is PE included, 4 paint options, active suspension and movable tracks. On top of that, full interior is added. Something that many consider a must in the new trend in armor modeling. That creates a lot of additional work and extends the project in time seriously, but as mentioned above, that is all about IDF modeling.
