The Mazda Savannah GT, debuting in September 1971, featured a 10A rotary engine and a sleek, long-nose short-deck design, gaining popularity for its stability and performance. It dominated motorsports, winning the Fuji 500 Mile Tourist Trophy Race in December 1971 and preventing the Skyline GT-R from achieving its 50th win. In 1972, the Savannah RX-3 (Savannah GT) was upgraded with a more powerful 12A engine, dominating the Japan Grand Prix and continuing its success. The 1973 model (late type) debuted in September 1972 with updated features like front/rear spoilers and over fenders. In 2005, a 1/24 scale model was released to celebrate the iconic car.
